We work with focus, agility, and shared purpose, moving with urgency to address patient needs and accelerate the delivery of new therapies. We embrace bold thinking, adapt quickly to change, and continually raise the bar for the speed and quality of clinical research. We are expanding our team and seeking talented individuals to help drive industry leading innovation, With Heart®.
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Salesforce Developer to join our team. As a Senior Salesforce Developer, you will design, build, and maintain scalable solutions on the Salesforce customer relationship management (CRM) platform, applying both declarative tools and programmatic capabilities to meet complex business requirements. You will also design and support integrations that connect Salesforce with external systems through Application Programming Interface (API) connections, delivering secure, efficient, and real-time data exchange.
Your solutions will support the teams that deliver clinical research, helping bring new therapies to patients with greater speed and quality. Healthcare, clinical development, or related experience is preferred. Responsibilities include designing and developing Salesforce solutions, building API integrations, leading code quality, and supporting release and production operations, with opportunities to deepen your expertise and influence business and project outcomes.
You'll join a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment focused on making a meaningful impact through strategic Salesforce solutions across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud (Pardot), and Contract Lifecycle Management. With diverse teams and continuous learning opportunities, the Senior Salesforce Developer can explore career paths and expand skills across Salesforce and clinical research.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable Salesforce solutions that meet business requirements and follow best practices. Translate technical specifications into high-quality solutions using declarative tools (such as Flows and Lightning App Builder) and programmatic capabilities (such as Apex, Visualforce, and Lightning Web Components)
- Design, develop, and maintain robust Salesforce API integrations using REST, SOAP, and Bulk APIs, connecting Salesforce with external systems for efficient data exchange, real-time synchronization, and strong security and performance
- Share technical knowledge, guide junior developers, and promote best practices that drive high-quality, efficient development. Lead by example to inspire and motivate the team to achieve project goals
- Partner with business analysts, project managers, and stakeholders to understand requirements, provide technical insight, and offer expert-level Salesforce guidance that keeps projects on track
- Develop and execute comprehensive unit tests, participate in integration testing, and support user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure high-quality deliverables that meet defined requirements and standards
- Provide technical support and resolve complex incidents and issues across Salesforce solutions, working closely with the support team and Salesforce technical support when needed
- Own and contribute to technical documentation, including solution design documents and technical specifications, so development is well documented for knowledge sharing and future maintenance
- Stay current on Salesforce features, trends, and industry developments. Research and propose innovative solutions to complex business problems, leveraging new Salesforce functionality or third-party applications
- Support sprint release deployments that move work smoothly from development to production. Sprint releases are scheduled on weekends once every 3 weeks
You'll thrive in this role if you bring:
- Strong Salesforce expertise across Marketing Cloud (Pardot), Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and AppExchange solutions such as Contract Lifecycle Management and Introhive
- A deep understanding of the Salesforce data model, security model, automation tools, and integration capabilities
- Strong architecture and design skills to create scalable, maintainable solutions aligned with best practices, performance, and scalability considerations
- Hands-on familiarity with integration techniques and data management tools, including REST, SOAP, Bulk API, Data Loader, Workbench, and ETL tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to debug code, analyze system behavior, and apply creative solutions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience deploying complex changes across sandbox and production environments, and working in Agile teams using Scrum or Kanban with tools such as Jira
- A passion for continuous learning, a team-first mindset, and the flexibility to adapt to changing project priorities and requirements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Salesforce administration and development
- Salesforce Administrator Certification, Salesforce Platform App Builder Certification, and Salesforce Platform Developer I Certification
- Experience designing and implementing Salesforce development projects and integrating Salesforce with external systems
- Experience troubleshooting and resolving production issues
- Experience with CRM software and working knowledge of relational database design
- Experience with contract lifecycle management (CLM) software
- Knowledge of the full sales cycle, from lead generation and request for proposal through the contract lifecycle (work orders to change in scope)
- Understanding of incident and problem management in a technology support environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Salesforce Advanced Administrator Certification and Sales Cloud Consultant credential
- Salesforce Platform Developer II Certification
- Experience in healthcare, clinical development, or a related field
- Knowledge of Agent force (AI) and Data Cloud
- Knowledge of Einstein Analytics configuration, with YAML experience as an advantage
- Experience implementing version control systems (such as Git or Azure DevOps) and continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) processes
We believe in flexibility, growth, and creating space for people to do their best work. Join us and be part of a team where your contributions help shape the future of clinical research.
